International President Tom Buffenbarger today announced that the IAM Executive Council has approved the appointment of

Railroad District 19 General Chairman Jeff Doerr

to serve on the IAM Law Committee.

 Doerr will fill the position previously held by recently deceased Law Committee member Jeff Goen.

“We welcome Jeff’s appointment and we all look forward to working with him,” said Buffenbarger.
 “His years of experience and proven commitment to the welfare of this union make him an ideal choice to carry on the important work of the Law Committee.”

Initiated in 1990 as an IAM member of Local 1833 in Minneapolis, MN, Doerr worked 15 years as an aircraft mechanic for Northwest Airlines before turning wrenches on SOO Line locomotives as a member of Local 112 in St. Paul, MN.
 A long time IAM activist, Jeff served in numerous local and district positions before being named as a General Chairman for District 19 in 2008.
